Ginza:  Tokyo's Best Worst Kept Secret

Ginza is the worst-kept secret because everyone knows it to be one of the premier shopping and cultural districts in Tokyo.  World-class restaurants, shopping, and a history to match put this area high on most people's to-visit lists when in Tokyo.   It is a favourite place to take pictures of mine.  One that has yielded much success over the years.  Finding a new favourite spot is a easy as walking down the street just la little farther.

Ginza's best-kept secrets lie beneath the dazzling lights of its flashy storefronts. To uncover these hidden gems, explore the side streets and back alleys. Here, you can discover the old Ginza, the authentic Ginza.  It is on these street that the best pictures present themselves.  Here is also where the soul of Ginza can still be seen.

The unique character of Ginza was crafted in these lanes, and if you pay close attention, you can still spot a few original spots. Vintage signs and time-honored shops, along with a classic café that looks like it’s straight out of a period film, make for excellent photo opportunities.

Places rich in character often host fascinating individuals: shopkeepers, chefs, or simply locals enjoying a stroll—perfect subjects for your photography.

If time allows, I strongly recommend wandering through the side streets of Ginza.

Conclusion:

Ginza should be a priority on any trip to Tokyo.  Take it on yourself or book a private tour through Tokyo Photo Tour. We would love share all best spots of this historic location on your next visit to Tokyo.
