Great Tokyo Street Photography Images for Everyone

The majority of my day as a street photographer is dedicated to identifying new locations rather than capturing photographs in them. This approach is shaped by instinct rather than personal preference. I allocate sufficient time to assess the potential of a given area, capturing images that satisfy me before proceeding to the next location. I have numerous preferred spots in Tokyo to which I frequently return; however, I do not regard any specific location as my own. Instead, these spaces belong to the city, and I merely observe their potential with care.

I am passionate about capturing exceptional images and enjoy sharing these visuals with the wider world. Furthermore, I find immense value in communicating the locations and methods used to create these images with my fellow photographers. Witnessing someone achieve a stunning photograph brings me tremendous joy, and the expression on their face is truly invaluable.  The shared experience is quite incredible.

Recently, I took a large group of people who were on a tour of Japan to Shibuya for a street photography lesson.  We started with some basic shots, soon progressing to an advanced technique.  The look of joy when they viewed the camera screen was fantastic.    Of course, we took all the classic shots of Shibuya crossing from above and visited all the famous places.  Great memories and great photos were made.  It was the secret spots and advanced techniques that stole the show.

I’d be thrilled to share this experience with everyone. If you’re uncertain about street photography or don’t own a fancy camera, there’s no need to worry. I’ve taught many people using only the camera on their phones. Remember, a great shot is a great shot, regardless of the camera used.
